little house THREE

December 27, 2014 I moved into Little House TWO and began cleaning, painting, and decorating it. Exactly two years later my husband, of just less than a year, and I -- seven months pregnant, and our Great Pyrenees dog, Barley James, moved into Little House THREE. When we moved out of the second Little House we sold most of our furniture and purged out a lot of other belongings. What we had left -- with the latest addition of a few practical pieces of furniture and some things for Baby O -- is what we unpacked into the third Little House. The apartment you see is as we found it except for three small improvements: hanging a towel hook near the sink in the bathroom, as well as the pot and the knife rack in the kitchen. A small apartment that isn't much to look at and our minimal belongings have come together to make a very cozy home -- just in time for us to become a three-some.

Moment of truth //

{click post title to view all photos} This may be my remodel vision, and it may be the work of myself and the MyNextHome crew making it a reality, but this little house is the Lord's. He promised me a place of my own and then Dad found it. He provided the funding for it and the financing advantages, because His timing is perfect and He can change hearts. When I needed something, like an encouraging presence or a helping hand, He sent servant-hearted people who love me. When we didn't have the time to wait to order my cabinets until they were on sale, the day we ordered them "coincidentally" was during the week they *were* on sale. Kitchen with the wall that had just been built, moved to where it's meant to be. [see previous post for full story] I'm making mistakes, it sometimes seems that there are miscommunications happening as steadily as the progress we are making (that just comes with a territory) and, as it is a remodel, we keep unearthing...

It's been several weeks...

{click post title to view all photos} Weeks have passed and here we are... still need to prime the trim in the main level in almost every room, then paint it, then paint the walls, then clean from top to bottom and finally get all set up and settled in. I have just been overwhelmed by coming into my house and seeing what is left to be done. I am so. close. to. finishing. but I am so *over* picking away at the project. It's not that it isn't fun to get it finished the way I want and its not that I think I can just stop working on it and it will get finished on its own (though I have greatly desired that to be the case) but I am just being real... after months of slow remodeling you reach a point where you are just, done. Happy day though! While I was away in Colorado on a trip my kitchen cabinets were installed by the MyNextHome crew. That is incredibly exciting and encouraging. Isn't it lovely?! Ah! I just love it. I still need to find a co...
