Before >> little house FOUR

At the same time that we were about to move into what would become Little House Three God spoke to Luke and I separately. He told Luke to move us to Kansas City in a short amount of time, and He told me that He had "just the place" for us. As we moved forward with the Kansas City leading we spent ample time house hunting. Adventure after adventure for months with nothing actually coming together. We took the leap anyway and ended up moving into this place sight-unseen the day we moved to KC. I had scrolled through some of the images of this townhouse on the property manager's website but had passed it by knowing it was out of our budget. When the place we'd applied for wasn't a good fit though the guys offered us this place at a slight discount. Turned out to have been vacant for some time and while the amenities sell it it was dated and worn, as you can see below. Still, it was the place I had dreamed of and better still for it to be a project -- a blank slate to get to work on. Transforming this place with fresh vision and creating in it a space to call our own for the next few years has been an utter joy. We've been working for two weeks, baby on one hip and paint brush in the other sometimes, and not only have a reveal coming shortly but also a house-warming party. You're very welcome to comment if you're in the area.

Moment of truth //

{click post title to view all photos} This may be my remodel vision, and it may be the work of myself and the MyNextHome crew making it a reality, but this little house is the Lord's. He promised me a place of my own and then Dad found it. He provided the funding for it and the financing advantages, because His timing is perfect and He can change hearts. When I needed something, like an encouraging presence or a helping hand, He sent servant-hearted people who love me. When we didn't have the time to wait to order my cabinets until they were on sale, the day we ordered them "coincidentally" was during the week they *were* on sale. Kitchen with the wall that had just been built, moved to where it's meant to be. [see previous post for full story] I'm making mistakes, it sometimes seems that there are miscommunications happening as steadily as the progress we are making (that just comes with a territory) and, as it is a remodel, we keep unearthing...

It's been several weeks...

{click post title to view all photos} Weeks have passed and here we are... still need to prime the trim in the main level in almost every room, then paint it, then paint the walls, then clean from top to bottom and finally get all set up and settled in. I have just been overwhelmed by coming into my house and seeing what is left to be done. I am so. close. to. finishing. but I am so *over* picking away at the project. It's not that it isn't fun to get it finished the way I want and its not that I think I can just stop working on it and it will get finished on its own (though I have greatly desired that to be the case) but I am just being real... after months of slow remodeling you reach a point where you are just, done. Happy day though! While I was away in Colorado on a trip my kitchen cabinets were installed by the MyNextHome crew. That is incredibly exciting and encouraging. Isn't it lovely?! Ah! I just love it. I still need to find a co...
