WK 2 >> day THREE

All the cabinets had been degreased and sanded. I had filled them with my dishes even though I knew Id just have to take them all back out in order to prime and paint in the near future but as I couldnt afford the paint just yet, I didnt mind. My countertops were cleared and situated. The kitchen was functioning now even if it wasnt fully finished. My living space continued to have little projects like a pile of books here and a couple of boxes there. My bedroom on the other hand was a disaster.

WK 1 >> day THREE

I wasnt emotionally prepared to take on the full project of the kitchen yet -- degreasing, sanding, priming and painting every surface -- but I didnt want to be living out of plastic tubs either so I dug out a few essentials for cooking and eating. Creating and placing the flags onto my world map was a fun break from all the hard work. Unpacking all of my books -- about half of my boxes contained books -- organizing them and placing them on my newly assembled IKEA bookcase was a big step of progress. Being able to push my bedroom furniture back against the walls was another one.

little house THREE

December 27, 2014 I moved into Little House TWO and began cleaning, painting, and decorating it. Exactly two years later my husband, of just less than a year, and I -- seven months pregnant, and our Great Pyrenees dog, Barley James, moved into Little House THREE. When we moved out of the second Little House we sold most of our furniture and purged out a lot of other belongings. What we had left -- with the latest addition of a few practical pieces of furniture and some things for Baby O -- is what we unpacked into the third Little House. The apartment you see is as we found it except for three small improvements: hanging a towel hook near the sink in the bathroom, as well as the pot and the knife rack in the kitchen. A small apartment that isn't much to look at and our minimal belongings have come together to make a very cozy home -- just in time for us to become a three-some.
