One day til deadline...

I had my little sister and brother come in early with me and together we did deep cleaning in the upstairs. Lots of sweeping, dusting, window washing and bathroom scrubbing. They didn't want to be there but they worked diligently anyway and I was encouraged by their help. I was tickled pink to use my Swiffer for the first time in my Little House. When the kids went home I bought outlet covers and put those on, put all the doors back by their proper doorways to be hung back up soon, and put out the curtains and rods. I couldn't help but put out a few decorative things as well once the bathroom was tidy enough.

Downstairs the guys were hard at work finishing so many jobs. The wiring, sheetrock sanding, priming, trim hanging, crown-molding hanging and spackling and priming. They prepared the kitchen floor for the vinyl and cleared out as much their tools and piles of trash as was possible. Everything was prepared for paint by the time they were done there that day.

It's been several weeks...

{click post title to view all photos} Weeks have passed and here we are... still need to prime the trim in the main level in almost every room, then paint it, then paint the walls, then clean from top to bottom and finally get all set up and settled in. I have just been overwhelmed by coming into my house and seeing what is left to be done. I am so. close. to. finishing. but I am so *over* picking away at the project. It's not that it isn't fun to get it finished the way I want and its not that I think I can just stop working on it and it will get finished on its own (though I have greatly desired that to be the case) but I am just being real... after months of slow remodeling you reach a point where you are just, done. Happy day though! While I was away in Colorado on a trip my kitchen cabinets were installed by the MyNextHome crew. That is incredibly exciting and encouraging. Isn't it lovely?! Ah! I just love it. I still need to find a co

Moment of truth //

{click post title to view all photos} This may be my remodel vision, and it may be the work of myself and the MyNextHome crew making it a reality, but this little house is the Lord's. He promised me a place of my own and then Dad found it. He provided the funding for it and the financing advantages, because His timing is perfect and He can change hearts. When I needed something, like an encouraging presence or a helping hand, He sent servant-hearted people who love me. When we didn't have the time to wait to order my cabinets until they were on sale, the day we ordered them "coincidentally" was during the week they *were* on sale. Kitchen with the wall that had just been built, moved to where it's meant to be. [see previous post for full story] I'm making mistakes, it sometimes seems that there are miscommunications happening as steadily as the progress we are making (that just comes with a territory) and, as it is a remodel, we keep unearthing
